The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) has, for more than seventy-five years, provided the U.S. Navy with critical capabilities for weapon systems and electronic technology. The Center’s current work focuses on command and control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) technologies to enable information dominance for our Naval, Joint, National and Coalition war fighters through research, development, delivery, and support of integrated capabilities.

With an accomplished history of technical experimentation and innovation, strategic world-wide locations, unique facilities and network connectivity, a workforce that includes more than 2,000 scientists and engineers and 1,000 technical professionals, and a strong partnership with private industry and academia, SSC Pacific is uniquely qualified to provide the full spectrum of C4ISR capabilities --- from basic research and prototype development, to extensive test and evaluation services, through systems engineering and integration, to installation and life-cycle support of fielded systems. Most of the Center’s project work addresses the requirements of the Navy and the Marine Corps. SSC Pacific also supports programs of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard and other Department of Defense and federal government agencies.

College graduates begin their careers at SSC Pacific through the New Professional (NP) Program. The NP Program is a career development program designed to bridge the gap between formal academic training and entry into professional work. Through rotational assignments and formal and on-the-job training, students experience a range of work. New Professionals at SSC Pacific have the opportunity to take one three-month tour outside of their intern-based projects for an opportunity to work in another technical area. The NP Program hires about 75 qualified individuals each year who are mentored in a diverse environment of more than 4,500 professionals.
