Dobbins Air Force Reserve Base (DARB) consists of operational facilities (e.g., hangars, aircraft maintenance, flightlines), training facilities, support facilities, and base-wide infrastructure (e.g., utility systems). DARB has natural infrastructure assets, such as airspace, forests and water resources. The 94th Mission Support Group Engineering Squadron maintains DARB by planning, acquiring, building, sustaining, managing, operating, and divesting of both natural and manmade infrastructure to support current and future missions and to maintain compliance with environmental requirements. To complete their mission, the Engineering Squadron encompasses a variety of occupational areas including engineering disciplines, realty specialists, environmental professionals, financial managers, firefighters, and more.

The 94th Mission Support Group Engineering Squadron plans, builds, maintains, and repairs base facilities and utility systems to support the 94th Airlift Wing mission to provide worldwide deployments in support of expeditionary wartime and peacetime air base operability requirements. The Engineering Squadron provides aircraft and structural fire protection, emergency medical response, hazmat emergency response, regulatory environmental management, explosive ordnance disposal, and engineering construction project management services during peacetime as well as during man-made disasters.

The 94th Airlift Wing, which hosts DARB, is organized into a headquarters element (22AF), three groups (Operations, Logistics and Mission Support), and a medical element, containing 11 squadrons and four flights (1,800 personnel). Together they have three missions: train C-130H aircrews for the AF – active duty, guard, and reserve components; maintain combat ready units to deploy on short notice to support contingencies anywhere in the world; and serve as the host organization for supporting all agencies and tenants at DARB. The Environmental Flight of the 94th Mission Support Group Engineering Squadron supports ALL of these activities by providing continual management of local, state, and federal regulatory compliance requirements, in addition to providing training to base personnel, communicating with and educating the base populace about specific requirements and policies, and advising on all construction projects.
