Hanscom Air Force Base (AFB), MA, is not a typical operational AF base but is home to two major AF Life Cycle Management Center Program Executive Offices. The base supports more than 10,000 active-duty, Reserve and National Guard personnel, DoD civilians, contractors, and 130,000 retired military and spouses.
The mission of the 66 Engineering Squadron is to provide operation, maintenance, repair, design and construction services, programming, planning, real property space and utility management, fire and environmental protection, and emergency management. The Squadron also oversees privatized housing and manages unaccompanied housing. This support is provided to acquisition facilities, research and development facilities, supporting facilities and base-wide infrastructure to protect, maintain, and improve the 272 Facilities worth $4.995B on 846 Acres on Hanscom AFB which is spread across four historic New England towns of Concord, Lexington, Bedford, and Lincoln, MA. In addition, Hanscom AFB hosts other units including the Massachusetts National Guard Joint Force Headquarters and services others throughout the region.
